Multi-Deck Vibro Sifter (2–4 Decks)
A multi-deck vibro sifter stacks 2–4 circular screens of decreasing aperture on a single vibration drive simultaneously classifying feed into 3–5 particle size fractions in one pass. Processing 50–8,000 kg/h with screen ratings of 100–5,000 µm per deck, it delivers classification efficiency greater than 92% per deck the standard configuration for multi-fraction pharmaceutical, food, and chemical powder grading in a single compact footprint when multiple particle size cuts are required simultaneously.

Feed enters the top deck (coarsest screen aperture); oversized particles discharge from the periphery at each deck level while undersized particles fall through to the next finer screen below. The bottom deck retains the finest classified fraction; through-screen fines exit at the base. Each deck discharges its fraction independently through tangential outlets at the screen periphery. Deck count (2–4) and aperture sequence are selected per product classification specification. Screen diameter is fixed per model; deck count increases housing height while maintaining the same installation footprint as a single-deck unit.
Challenges
Cross-Contamination Between Deck Fractions
Improperly sealed deck-to-deck interfaces allow fine particles to contaminate coarser fractions.
Reduced Throughput per Deck vs. Single-Deck
Feed is processed sequentially each deck has lower effective throughput than a single-deck unit.
Screen Access for Cleaning in Multi-Deck Units
Lower deck cleaning requires removal of all upper decks increasing downtime significantly.
Vibration Amplitude Variation Across Deck Stack
Lower decks receive attenuated vibration energy separation efficiency per deck decreases with stack height.
Structural Resonance at Certain Frequencies
Multi-deck stack height creates resonance frequencies within the operating speed range excessive vibration.
Solutions
- Precision-Machined Deck Mating Flanges with O-Ring Seal: Zero inter-deck bypass each fraction discharged cleanly to separate collection points.
- Swing-Bolt Deck Clamping for Rapid Dismantling (<15 min): All decks accessible independently in under 15 minutes each deck swings open for cleaning.
- Vibration Amplitude Booster on Lower Decks: Secondary eccentric weights on lower deck drive shaft compensate for stack attenuation uniform efficiency.
- Finite Element Resonance Analysis at Design Stage: FEA identifies resonance frequencies drive speed selected to avoid resonance band at design.
- CIP Spray Ball at Each Deck Level: Individual spray ball per deck ensures validated cleaning without screen removal all surfaces covered.
Applications
- Pharmaceutical: Multi-fraction granule classification, API powder grading, tablet blend quality control.
- Food & Beverage: Multi-grade spice classification, flour grade separation, sugar crystal multi-fraction grading.
- Chemical: Multi-fraction catalyst grading, pigment particle size classification, polymer pellet grading.
- Nutraceuticals: Multi-grade supplement granule classification, botanical extract powder multi-fraction grading.
- Cosmetics: Multi-fraction mineral powder grading, pigment particle size separation.
